Lives touching Lives – The Sunflower Sky Hike is an annual charity hike lighting up Sani Pass with sunflowers galore! Border post to border post, return. A total of 16kms.
Climb your mountain because you can. Celebrating LIFE, giving HOPE, and supporting those challenged by cancer. Refreshment station at Sani Pass border. A family event held on Father’s Day. Donation-based. This is an event with heart & sunflowers! Proceeds raised are shared between a cancer-warrior recipient and a charity for cancer.
Every year the hike takes place on Father's Day. Third Sunday of June. 7.30am - 3pm. Bring sunflowers and let's light up the pass!
8kms up the pass from Sani border post to Lesotho border post and 8kms down. Sunflower Sky hikers are seconded by our 4x4s. Walk as far as you can. Nobody is counting. Hop into a Sunflower 4x4 if needed. It's just about being on the Mountain for your special someone!
No there are no seconding tables. This is not a race. Each hiker is to be self-sufficient. There is a refreshment table at the Sani Pass border post selling hamburgers, bacon & egg rolls, hot chocolate and coffee and tea. Bring cash as coms do not allow for credit card payments.
